Designed from the frame up as a place to live, not just travel—Silver Nugget blends light, sound, and comfort into a seamless off-grid experience.

Project Silver Nugget is a full, shell-off restoration of a 1968 Airstream, reimagined as a quiet, carefully tuned living environment. Built on a newly fabricated 30-foot chassis with new riveted aluminum panels and skylights, the project focuses less on visible systems and more on how the space feels to inhabit.

Light, sound, and climate were designed to work together as a single, integrated experience. Indirect LED lighting is concealed beneath cabinetry and along the edges of wood ceiling planks, softly washing the curved aluminum walls and amplifying the sense of space without glare. Two independent Dolby Atmos sound systems are woven into the architecture, delivering immersive audio without visual clutter. A concealed HVAC system distributes air through vents hidden beneath cabinets, benches, beds, and seating, maintaining comfort without disrupting the interior’s clean lines.

Sustainability is embedded throughout the design. Off-grid solar power, large on-board water storage, and efficient mechanical systems allow Silver Nugget to operate independently while minimizing its footprint. Constructed from durable aluminum, stainless steel, and composite materials and sealed entirely with urethane at every rivet and seam, Silver Nugget is built for longevity, efficiency, and reuse rather than replacement.

Every element inside follows the curve of the shell. With no off-the-shelf components, each cabinet, bracket, and detail was custom designed and fabricated, resulting in a cohesive space where form, function, and performance work in quiet harmony.
